Happy Hour
No Host
It’s Friday Night! Come unwind and celebrate the kick off of your weekend away. This opportunity for friends, fun, and fellowship will include light apps and mocktails.
Meet & Greet
Jessica Ratliff
Part of what makes Called to Love so special is the fellowship time with other women who “get it.” When you attend alone, this can be more of a challenge so if you have come to retreat solo (or are just looking to meet some of the other ladies in attendance), please join us for a meet and greet. Let’s start the retreat weekend off making some new friends.
SATURDAY, April 15, 11:15 am
Mandala Dot Painting
Various Hosts
Come experience the low-stress technique of Mandala dot painting. Mandala typically have an identifiable center point from which an array of symbols, shapes, and forms begin. In a self-paced setting, you can find joy in the journey creating a beautiful piece either following our stencil guide or painting a creation of your own. These patterns represent wholeness, holiness, and all things encompassed by God.
Questions Your Kids Have About Faith
Jordyn Glaser
Kids ask hard questions about faith so it is important that we as caregivers do our best to equip ourselves to have answers at the ready, or at least know where to look if we don’t. This session will cover some of the common questions kids ask, guidance on how to answer them, and resources to help you navigate this journey.
Building Bridges
Vennisa Gomez-Gerberg
As both an adoptee and kinship provider, Vennisa has learned firsthand the importance of connections with members of the birth family. Join her in this session for a personal perspective on the importance of first-family connections.
Thinking Differently – Seeing our Kids Behaviors Through the Brain
Keri Lovely

EQUIPPING OUR KIDS : Strategies in the Midst of the Hard
Summer Hermann
As foster and adoptive mamas we have learned to parent on a whole different level! For many of us nothing really surprises us anymore. At times we are ready to pull out all the stops to redirect and regulate our little people who have a tough time regulating themselves. Other times we find ourselves at loss for what to do, weariness takes over and we become in need of our own regulation plan. In this workshop I will point you to some helpful resources to assist in helping your child with transitions, and help you come up with new ideas to create calm for your routines and environment. I will also point us all to some helpful “Mama Calm down tips” to help ourselves to regroup in the midst of the hard.
Let's Talk About That Empty Nest!
Laura Chica
Parenting through the launch of children into adulthood is no easy task and often looks very different than what we might have imagined. Learn how to biblically think and respond to the transitions we experience as we parent our children into adulthood
How to Navigate the Mental Health System in order to Serve the Children in Your Care
Tammy Chatfield
In this session you will learn the importance of Mental Health Services early on in your child's placement. You will learn what the role of a mental health provider is, what you should expect from the provider, and how to partner with mental health to reach the best outcomes for your child/children in care.
